Lister Primary School

Young Readers Programme

Lister Primary School have once again been lucky enough to be involved in The Young Readers Programme 2020. The Young Readers Programme has been put together by The National Literacy Trust to develop a whole-school culture of reading for pleasure. The programme at Lister will involve children from Lower Key Stage 2 throughout the school year. During this time children taking part in the programme will be able to:

  • choose and keep new children’s books at a series of fun, reading related ‘events’.
  • pick out books by their favourite authors
  • enjoy a fun visit to their local library.

Year 3 and Year 4 are lucky to be taking part in the Young Readers Project this year. These are pictures from year 3 and 4’s reading event. There will be a number of events during the year to encourage their love of reading.  This week the children were each given a book from a fantastic selection by brilliant children’s authors including Roald Dahl,David Walliams , Julia Donaldson and Ted Hughes.
