Lister is a Community Primary School that presently caters for over 450 children aged 3+ to 11 years. The school was purpose built in 1964 as a First School and was renovated in 2003 to provide accommodation for a Primary School. A further, large extension was built in 2007.
Lister is a two-form entry school, with mixed ability classes in each of the year groups. We have six spacious classrooms in the original building that accommodate Reception Classes and Key Stage One. We also have a further seven Key Stage Two classrooms as well as providing office facilities, Sports Hall, ICT suite, library and staff room.
Outside we have an adventure playground which provides opportunities for a range of outdoor learning opportunities.
Our school is on a level site. The main entrance has automatic doors to enter and a disabled button to exit the building. A ramp has been installed to access key stage two classrooms on the ground floor. The ground floor of school is fully accessible by wheelchair and there is a lift to access the first floor. We have two disabled toilets positioned at opposite ends of the school on the ground floor and a disabled toilet on the first floor.
