Homework and Spellings will be given out every Friday.  Children visit the school library every week on a Wednesday and are given a chance to borrow a book. Please ensure that  your child is reading daily with an adult or older sibling. PE will be on a Monday for China and Japan.  Please ensure that children have the correct named PE kit with them. Also on a Tuesday groups of children will be attending swimming lessons. Thank you to all parents and carers for your continued support, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to get into contact with any of the Year 4 team!

How we assess in Year 4 at Lister Primary School

We are constantly assessing children in an informal way to ensure we plan and deliver lessons to best meet their needs and move their learning on. This happens on a daily basis. Each term we also carry out more formal assessments in reading and maths.  We use the information gathered from assessments to identify gaps in learning, specific strengths and weaknesses and to decide if any interventions need to be put in place.

We report on each child’s progress at Parents’ Evenings and in the end of year Pupil Reports
